Levitation Exercises

Q and A's

In this column we have a few levitation exercises along with some pictures of folk using some of them. If you know of a levitation exercise or method that is not here that ought to be, please let us know about it via our Contact Us pg. Thanks!

Here are five levitation
methods/exercises for you.

For a quick trip down the page to the
pictures of levitation methods just

For tips on levitation and flight click here.

Light Board Method/Exercise #1:
Step One:
The person to be lifted (the lift-e) lays down flat on their back, arms laid alongside the body with the hands in a vertical position.

Step Two: With two people on each side of the lift-e everyone then chants "light as a feather, stiff as a board" over and over as they concentrate on both gathering in energy and the lift. The lift-e benefits from this suggestion which is more accurately a 'command'.

Step Three: After about a minute the lifters around the lift-e while maintaining the chant each clasps their two hands together, interlocking their fingers, excepting the two index's which they leave out and press horizontally and parallel against one another. They then push their two fingers gently but definitely into the lift-e as they keep repeating the chant.

Step Four: On the fifth chant after the fingers being placed against the lift-e all five participants intend the levitation occur. Be ready to rise with the lift-e.

Put positive belief and intent behind these actions and the lift-e (light as a feather) will rise into the air with their body stiff as a board.

Four Corners Lift Method Exercise #2:
Step One: Someone sits on an armless chair while four people position themselves around the chair, one at each of its legs.

Step Two: Have each of the four lifters clasp their two hands together, interlocking their fingers, excepting the two index's which you have them press horizontally and parallel against one another.

Step Three: Each person holding their hands together as described above (horizontally) now places them under either the armpit or knee location they are closest to of the seated person.

Step Four: With the four lifters at their position and as everyone concentrates on the goals of gathering in energy  and the lift, count 3, 2, 1 and lift at the same time.

Remember to keep the atmosphere light,
even fun. Relax and intend the lift.

Hands On Crown Method Exercise #3
(A variation on the Four Corners Lift above)
Step One: with one person in the chair, have the four lifters stand at their places around the back side of the seated persons head in a half moon shape like this  o)

Step Two: The person to the seated persons right then places their LEFT hand on top of the seated persons head palm down, then the person to the left (clockwise) does
the same until all 4 have their hands stacked on top of the persons head.

Step Three: The person who placed the first left hand now repeats this process but this time with their  RIGHT hand. The rest of the group does the same in the same order until they all have their hands stacked on top of the persons head. Keep them there for a minute while concentrating
on your goal; the gathering of energy and the lifting.

Step Four: Now, your going to reverse the hand movements from the process you just did. Slowly and while maintaining your concentration on your aim of gathering energy and the lift, remove your hands one at a time from top to bottom. As your hands come off their head place them at your side.

Step Five: Once everyone has done that, each person clasps their two hands together, interlocking their fingers, excepting the two index's which you leave out and press horizontally and parallel against one another. Now move to your positions (same as on the Four Corners Lift) at and under the arm pit and knee locations and lift. Want to surprise folks? Locate the biggest person in the room to pick up and use the smallest people to lift them.

Bed Prop Method Exercise #4  A challenging exercise that's not for everyone
Step one:
Stand on your bed or over a soft surface. Slowly bend over at the waist lean forward and extend your arms forward and downwards at about a 45 degree angle in front of you. Now, intend, feel for, and create an energy beneath your hands that will hold the top half of your body up. For some of you, creating that energy in more detail will help. Give it a size, shape, color, texture etcetera. When that works move onto step two. If it didn't work lean over more and if you go down that far, plant your hands on top of the pillows or soft surface. Now go to step two.

Step two: Keeping in mind that your hands will and or the energy you created under them will hold you firmly, now lift your legs up one at a time, again holding it that they will be held up. Imagine and now feel them being held up. If  you are unsuccessful start over from a standing position and put more intent behind each movement. If you have been successful thus far now lift your arms and hands out  to the side horizontally. You have successfully levitated. There is nothing stopping you from flying now. That's the next step. Just give yourself permission, believe you are just as able to do this as the levitation. Yes there will be nuances to learn like how to control your maneuvers, speed etc.

The Lotus Drum Method Exercise #5
Preparations:
Ahead of time, set a specific goal of how high your willing to go and for how long your going to stay up so peoples minds don't spin round wondering about what to do, who's going to do it or how it will be done.  Appoint one person to be the time keeper. When that time has been reached, and if the Lotus (the recipient) has not let themselves down yet then the time keeper will utter 'gently down now' as a signal to the Lotus and to those sending them the energy that now our directed intent is for them to come down gently and softly.

The Exercise: One person, the central lotus, sits down, set themselves up with good posture and then folds their arms one within the other. With eyes closed they begin to meditate on their twofold goal; bringing in energy, and lifting. The lotus then brings the energy in through the bottom of the spine and thus the kundalini rod, exciting it. After some time of Being about this, the lotus, sensing there is enough energy, now creates the intent of the desired movements.

While the lotus meditates and brings in the energy through their internal rod (as contrasted to the witch doctors staff) the group of any number of other people are standing or sitting (as a group) around them with thoughts positive as to the goal.

As far as the group directing energy goes you can create it any number of ways. Here are three. As a group you can: #1. Place palms together in front of you and pointed out from you, focused towards your recipient. 2. Hands together, fingers interlocked with the two index fingers pressing side by side and parallel with one another. Again pointed at your recipient. 3. Hands at your side, eyes closed, energy sent through third eye to recipient

What's most important here is not the form but
the intent and free belief in this aim of levitation.

So, now everyone is directing their positive beliefs and energy to the central lotus (the recipient) while the lotus meditates and activates their pineal gland and kundalini rod. The group members, each in their own time is beginning to generate their connection to spirit and come together psychically as a group.  As this goes on the lotus will have more and more energy with which to levitate by.

As we grow in confidence of our capabilities and of the support, even love of All That Is we will be able to let go of our crutches, props and fears to then perform these feats on our own. That is the goal. We will always though, have times of using our psychic, really our natural abilities with others spontaneously as well as in groups and organizational structures.

A variation on the Crown on Head Method. Here 2 to 4 people lay their right hands upon the subjects head. The next person clockwise does the same and so forth till all of you have your right hand upon them. Then start with your Left hands and do the same. Next, apply a fairly light but obvious pressure downwards for about 1 minute, then everyone lift their hands off the subject but stays focused on sending their energy and the energies all around you towards the subject. Mentally say the word 'rise', and if you wish add their first name. With the group and them being willing and positive about their raising you can expect favorable results. Like most things practice helps.

In the Bed Prop Method, as you lean over, intend, feel for, and create an invisible energy beneath your hands that will hold your front half up. The next picture has the rest.

Step two, is to crouch slightly and kick your legs out from under yourself while planting your hands upon that invisible energy you created. As you can see in the picture above, the arms are now holding the same function as the yogi's stick or rod that serves to bring in the energy necessary for the levitation. It is a step on your way to flying but keep in mind that it is, literally a crutch, a mental one we use until we grow into the belief that we can bring the energy in without the prop.  Your next move is to get to where you can raise your arms out to the side. Once you've got that your just about ready to fly. Congratulations on your successful levitatation.

Nothing stopping you from flying now. That's the next big step. Just give yourself permission, believe you are just as able to do this, as the levitation. You are not doing it alone, you literally have the support of All That Is in doing this. Yes there will be nuances to learn as well as just plain how to control your maneuvers, speed etc. and that is just on the physical side. Internally you will be addressing limiting beliefs and fears that have prevented you thus far from flying. This girl however, is well on her way!

Directing the energy is very important. Notice this group is
not laying their hands on or above the head. Notice also that they are interlocking their fingers as they direct the energy with the two index fingers.

Directing the energy within and around her UP!

As children we have fewer limitations already set up in our psyche. We are much more free to accept levitation and flight as a reality. In this picture we are seeing the results of this as it is the kids pure energy (untainted by the adult world view) that allows them both to jump up and remain levitated. Meditate upon your own child like innocence. Children oftentimes don't know what is and is not possible. That is, they have not been programmed with our limiting beliefs.

Real men can lift 200 lbs of dead weight with just their fingers!

Family members levitating one of their own.

Even if you are strong, you cannot lift this much weight at these kind of angles with just your two fingers.
Whats happening is they are directing their intent and universal energy (prana) towards the goal of lifting
her up. They are nullifying her weight. How many enlightened masters have told us that this
physical world is but an illusion? Our bedrock reality is not 'physical'.

Here is an informal group having quite a bit of success.

Flight Exercises

In this column we have
a few flight exercises.
If you know of one that
is not here that ought to
be, please,
let us know about it. Thanks!

Human Flight Checklist

Check your beliefs at the door. Accept the real possibility of human flight

Meditate on universal love, postive energies and thoughts

Get In Touch with Your Breath. When you click on this link you can learn about the three basic types of breathing, and the various pranayama breathing techniques you can use to build up your concentration, your personal power and thus your ability to fly. Also on this page you can read about the eight great yogic powers derived from these ancient Indian pranayamas.

Clean and Align Our Chakra Centers. If you want to fly you need to have your chakras in good working order. Find out why and how by using the link above.

Frequency - To fly, we must raise your frequency rate. Continue to work/play at raising your vibrational rate to that of harmony, love and positive belief.
Each of us is unique and vibrates at our own unique frequency rate so, The rate of vibration that enables one person to lift up and fly will not necessarily work for another person. Your on the search for the higher frequency that will do it for you.
Contemplate upon those things, events, words and music that have lifted your spirits the most in life or that would were some imagined great things to happen. Allow those vibrations motion within you.

If you are a beginner attempting to levitate on your own, here is a small bit of advice: Keep your arms and hands at your sides. Why? This keeps your energy fields tighter so that they can better concentrate the pranic or chi energies your bringing in. Don't ball up your fists, keep your palms "open".
If you want, while standing up you can place your thumbs in your pants pockets with your fingers together in a slightly semi-cupped position,
again palms down.

Have a fear of falling?
Here are some affirmations you can use to generate confidence in your ability to levitate or fly securely:

I am held up by the
grace of All That Is

I am safe and secure in
the loving arms of God
at all times.

My balance steady.
My safety assured,
I rise and land as
gently as a feather.

I am secure. I raise
and land with utter confidence and grace.

Have a helpful affirmation of your own that you'd
like to share with the
rest of us?
Let us know about it.

Movements and meditations you can practice that will draw flight to you. Listen, feel and look for what will work best for you.

An important set of actions to practice are take-offs and landings.
Intend to practice these exercises in your dreams
as well as in your
waking hours.
Visualize and otherwise "feel" your lift offs and landings. Go into the details of how you would prefer to do these maneuvers. Consider doing some in different postures. Sitting with leggs crossed, laying down or standing up.

Maybe your take-offs will be done by simply levitating up. Maybe your "style" is jumping up or taking a couple of steps and then going up.

If your doing the one where you are standing up try landing with one foot down first and then the other and then a landing with both feet touching down at once. Envison others where you come down as a parachutist
does with forward
motion at a slight run.

When you do land, "feel" yourself slowly return
to weightfulness

Imagine/create a vortex, a clockwise spinning one that is as tall as you.
Once you are vividly experiencing this vortex quickly slow it to a
stop and reverse its
motion so that its going counter-clockwise. See, hear and feel this one having a lifting spiral energy to it. Remember, you are not spinning, it is. Now, grow your vortex in size and lifting power until you feel your lifting.
When you are ready to come down just decrease the speed of the vortex.

Self Trickery
As in: "I've done this before"
The mind does not distinguish between things well imagined and actual physical events. Doing the former prepares you for the latter.

With the power of your  imagination do a meditation visualization where you "own it" that you have levitated and flown before (since in other lifetimes we may well have).
Vividly and with passon now, envision your previous or even future life flights, both will draw the physical experince to you. BE adventurous.  Endeavor to make use of all your senses.

If making up these kinds of flying episodes is not your strong point perhaps you have a relation or friend who is a talented storyteller who would help you.

Here is a meditation
on
building a bond
with and communicating your intent to your cells.

Put your body in a
restful position. Drop an imaginary golden rope from the base of your spine to the center of the Earth. Visualize yourself comfortably within a white semi-transparent oval. This will serve as your safe space to do this visualization in. Now, in increments we are going to (from an observational point outside the body) magnify the body and with our consciousness, slowly move into it. The initial view is of the body as solid but with each progressive magnification (no need for numbers here) you begin to see through the seeming dense physical matter. Now look, listen and feel your way amongst the cells of your body. Send love and gratitude to your cells. Let them know what you are up to in practicing this exercise. That being levitation. Weightlessness at your command. Acknowledge that you know that physicalness is the illusory world and that you realize that everything is fundamentally spirit including the cells that make up your body. Your intent is that the spirit take over when you say so and that your body becomes as weightless as you desire for as long as you desire it. Send out joy and gratitude to your cells for the new relationship you are creating with your body.
Give thanks to All That Is

Play Flight
Take time out for inspiration. Play with this flight idea. Consider what  your style of flight might be? Would your body be pretty animated? Arms, knees and feet performing any motions? Maybe you would just rise and then bring your arms outstretched in front of you as you fly horozontally like Superman or Superwoman.

Again, have fun , try swimming through the sky from time to time. Imagine how your free spirit might frolick in
the skies. What kinds of terrain would you love
to fly over and around? Would air temperature affect you? It doesn't have to but maybe you would like to feel the brisk cool air of the Himilaya's or the warmth of the tropics etcetera.
Feel the sun pleaseantly upon you. Maybe it shines upon your face as you sit upon one of the stones at Stone Henge in England. Maybe you would enjoy it distantly, as one might who resided in the arctic regions during those days when the sun never quite sets or rises.
Imagine yourself playing nicely with animals as you float and fly about in mid air.
Fly in and around waterfalls without the waters pressures adversely affecting you any more that the atmospheres air does.
Feel the tips of trees with your bare feet as you playfully float above them. Now fly amongst the trees as the etherial folk, the fairies and such do.
Invite any friendly and interested etherial folk to join you in your sky dances at sun-up or sun-down.
Explore canyons, craters, calderas and other earth features you have always wanted from this new vantage point of flying.
Smell the scents of flowers now first hand that you never could reach before.
Follow the courses of Rivers from varying heights above them, maneuvering easily to avoid tree lims and such.
Do the gymnastic feats in the air that you could never do upon the ground.

Q and A's

How do I not lose control when I do attain flight?
BE in full belief as to your natural ability to do this.

Is it better for me to practice my levitation and flight exercises by myself or with others?
As detailed in the Dec. 20th 2006 issue of the Journal of Neuroscience, researchers, using functional magnetic resonance imaging, found that "when a person watches someone else perform a task with the intention of later replicating the observed performance, motor areas of the brain are activated in a fashion similar to that which accompanies actual movement". Thus what this says to us is that participating with others in practicing personal levitation and flight is very conducive to our attaining our intent of personal flight. As I have said before, some amount of immersion in the subject and experiences of our aim is very helpful.

At World Upliftment events we will have
people leading others
in visualizations and meditations that will aid them in lifting off. Reiki and other energy workers. chakras will be aligned by these people or by walking a labyrinth.

Gathering in energy ~ In the various levitating methods we speak of  it is mentioned that we are to concentrate on bringing in energy for the lift. What are we talking about? Well, generally speaking, it is very draining to levitate using only ones own energy resources. This is why you will see (on our website and on the internet) some shaman and mystics using a staff. The energy of God (All That Is) however, is ever-present everywhere around us. We need to BE conscious of this and that we can and ought to be drawing it in all the time, through our breath, our food and our intent in general. The shaman often uses the staff as an energy conduit, drawing the energy into his or her physicalness from the earth itself. Mediums and magicians (Chris Angel) for instance often use the energy of other people around them to give themselves the energy it takes to perform those seeming super-natural feats. The staff is not necessary, it is a crutch, a device used while one is lacking enough personal power to produce the act oneself via the grace of God. Developing our 'Personal Power' and right relation with the Spirit is key.

Throughout the history of levitation and human flight emotion was a fundamental factor. Those involved in religion (priests, monks, nuns and those who later became saints) were often in prayer mode. Often in a meditative state. Feeling the grace of God, Feeling gratitude for God. Feeling the generosity of God. Feeling the love of God. Feeling the ever present everywhere support of God. Our meditating upon and our Being the qualities of love, our Be ing the beautiful qualities of God ourselves, will uplift us, literally.

Some people have also achieved levitation without focusing on the qualities of Being described above. Beliefs also have a part to play in our success. Yogi's have achieved levitation, flight and much more through removing erroneous beliefs, concentration, breathing techniques, and attaining an intimate knowledge of the essential nature of God or All That Is. So, imagine you have an inner book of beliefs. Some you adopted through your culture and others you created yourself. Write them down in reality. It may help you as it has me. Listen to your own speech as your beliefs will come out your mouth as you relate with others. Notice them and write them down in your notes or in your Belief Journal. Now, finally, reword those limiting beliefs so that they are more positive, affirming and expansive in holding open possibilities for you that can allow your consciousness to expand and for you to realize your greater potential that can include levitation and flight for two examples. One important question to ask yourself as far as beliefs go is: Do I believe that I am supported by God/All that Is?

Others have not had a belief in the possibility/reality of levitation and human flight nor have they been about the qualities of Being that support it. Instead they were caught by surprise themselves by what seemed to happen to them. Of course it did not happen to them. They at an other than conscious level had it happen. It happened due to a lack of beliefs opposing levitation. They had no internal barriers to it. Another facet figuring in here is that people always have purposes (conscious or otherwise) for events that they involve themselves in. There are no accidents! Instead, there are greater purposes that we could say, our more evolved Self (some call it inaccurately the Higher Self) has in mind for us to grow by. If our personal growth were all up to our ego we would grow/evolve but little through the years and certainly not with such adeptness and creatively as we currently do, when we do.

How long will it take to develop my powers
In previous times (if we are going to speak linearly) it took many years for some who studied pranayama techniques to master them such that they could finally perform so-called super human feats of various kinds. Today it will not take nearly as long to manifest those abilities within us. Why? Many have noticed that consciousness is speeding up. This is happening across the whole spectrum of consciousness, not just for humans. All life on and even of the planet itself, is rising, quickening if you will in consciousness. In our experience, time will continue to go by faster and faster. The Mayan civilization even left us a specific explanation of how this great cycle of consciousness works. (See the late Ian Lungold's website www.mayanmajix.com) We are at the end of that cycle now. A whole new one will then begin. Consciousness here will be a whole other octave or more higher.

Note: Our powers are not exclusive to us. As a general statement, they are shared by other non-human beings. They are not 'ours' as in what we developed and generated all by ourselves. All our abilities and powers are derived from God or as I call the non-it; All That Is. They are ours by the grace of All That Is, by the love of All That Is. They are not 'ours' so much as they are a natural function of a consciousness that is free from limiting dogmatic beliefs.
